Brennessa by Brentano II and her dam line includes Rotspon, Rubinstein I, Wolkenstein II and Weltmeyer.

Brennessa is expecting a foal by Rave Review late March 2011.

Bree gave birth to Rare Find aka Arie on March 27th 2011.  Besides having to reposition Arie to get both legs coming out at the same time, it was a fairly quick delivery.  Bree showed typical signs of immenient foaling and we put in 3 nights of foal watch and on the 3rd night, Arie arrived and we were present for the whole thing!  Arie is strong and healthy and was up within a 1/2 hour.   Bree is a very protective mother and is supplying lots of milk.  This looks to be a very correct filly and we feel she will represent Brentano II, her grand sire and Rave Review, her sire splendidly.    Brennessa and Rave Review looks to be a very good pairing.  God willing, they will continue to make great babies!

Brentano II (by Bolero x Grande x Ferdinand)

The legendary Hanoverian breeding stallion Brentano II passed away on Wednesday night 9 June 2010 following a severe colic attack. The liver chestnut stallion could not be saved and had to be humanely put down.

Brentano II was a foundation sire for the Hanoverian breed. Sired by Bolero out of renowned brood mare Glocke (by Grande x Ferdinand), the stallion was bred by Max Schulz-Stellenfleth and became the 1985 Hanoverian Licensing Champion, 1986 reserve stallion performance test winner and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2003.

He has 1880 registered offspring which are Hanoverian branded. Twenty-three sons are licensed and there are 514 Brentano II-broodmares registered in Germany. His daughter State Premium Mare Bona Dea became the champion of the 2000 Ratje-Niebuhr Elite Mare Show. In the Brandenburg area his daughter Poesie produced a whole new dynasty with World and Bundeschampion Poetin and the licensed stallions Samba Hit I to IV.

Brentano II’s most famous offspring in the dressage ring were Debbie McDonald’s Brentina (out of a Lungau dam) and Sven Rothenberger’s Barclay II. Both competed at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Brentina is by Brentano II, who was Hanoverian stallion of the year in 2003 and was second at his stallion testing. He has produced several impressive offspring, such as Barclay and Barclay II, Bone Dea II, and he is the dam-sire of Poetin. Brentina is a full-sister to the stallion Barclay II.
